Co-ords, matching pieces, skirt and top, and “best invention since sliced bread”… are just some of the multitude of different ways we refer to two piece sets in the biz. Alternate naming aside, there’s definitely one thing that we can all agree on- that it’s a very appealing, modern style.
Gaining popularity amongst formal dresses a good few years ago, it’s now seen across categories from evening-wear all the way to bridal and bridesmaids! In this blog we’ll focus specifically on our faves for formals and proms!
We start our journey showing off a silhouette that is arguably the most striking and where this trend began… with an A-line skirt, of course! Below you can see the Holly PO819 in all of it’s glory- talk about stun-ning. This type of dress is so popular because like many of its peers features a high waist, which holds you in whilst flowing over the tummy. It’s a great choice for any size upper body too, thanks to the amazing elasticated off-shoulder straps.
Ahhh, the Gabbi dress! It’s seriously so pretty and is yet again another version of a two piece that has reined supreme this season. It comes in six colours too, so there’s no lack of choice on this one. It’s made from a stretchy lace fabric (unlike any of these other dresses) so you’ll be comfy AF while looking smokin’ AF. A total win-win in our books!
This dress is one of the OG two piece sets here at Sentani. It’s been one of our most popular through the years, and there’s definitely a reason why. The mermaid silhouette is super sweet and it’s proven to be something a lot of formal girls look for. Plus, that ruffle shoulder is so unique and is sure to set you apart at your event!
Last but definitely not least is the PO832 Jade dress! Once again, you really don’t need to be a size six to pull this off. Curvy girls, we’ve got your back! The oh-so-gorgeous model Bonnie is wearing this set like it was made for her! It compliments the figure beautifully and this dress specifically is the perfect little number for an edgy moment. It suits so many different body types and there are a million different variations- which means there’s something for everyone! It’s completely undeniable that this cute and quirky style won’t be going away anytime soon. Next time you’re on the hunt for some new formalwear, why not give it a try!
