It’s that time of year again… winter is almost over, the westerly winds are due to arrive and the annual Ekka is on from the 8th to the 17th August.
More than 400,000 people will visit the Ekka and the Commbank Natural Fibres Fashion Parade is a favourite by all. There is a mix of established and emerging designers including EP by Easton Pearson, Gail Sorronda, Paul Hunt, Darb Couture, Bora, Maiocchi, Tengdahl Sacha Drake, Han, Urbbana, Wil Valor and more. The parade is located in the brand new Royal International Convention Centre and stages three to four times each day.
The iconic parade has been a favourite since 1980 but for the first time the runway show has taken a new circus like angle. Audiences are captivated by acrobatic performances, aerial artists, ballet dancers along with the new season fashions. There are designs from ready to wear, couture and bridal wear. The models have amazing afro-like hair and bold make up. It’s not just a fashion parade it’s a show! This new angle is a hit and why would’t it be when fashion is a circus after all. With only four more days of shows don’t miss out!
What did you think of this year’s circus parade?
