The tenth Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane showcased in August with so many incredible pieces that this Spring/Summer is set to be the most stylish yet.
Colourful was the theme of Myer who welcomed Alex Perry on board this year. Being one of Australia’s most influential designers with a slick, sexy and strong collection for Summer. With the warmer weather on it’s way it was refreshing to see lightweight fabrics in bold colours on the runway. Longer skirt lengths and pants were favoured by several designers including Yeojin Bae and Alex Perry. The colourful theme continued into the models hair and make up featuring graphic shapes in vibrant colours of blue and orange. Lips were left nude and finished off with a slicked back hairstyle.
In regards to the wedding section Darb Couture was easily a favourite this year. With extravagantly elegant oversizes gowns making the way back into our hearts. A vintage throw back in the designs paired with textured fabrics and patterns set this designer apart from the rest. Jordanna Regan Couture’s direction was the complete opposite with figure hugging flowing designs. Representing timeless elegance, luxury and grace through the female silhouette. Bridal hair pieces are definitely on trend including embellished head bands, crowns, halos and abstract pieces.
